What's On
South African Trip As many of you know I had been asked back to Africa for follow up meetings from the June/July trip with My Home Town. This was an interesting trip whereby we were able to find out the projects that are on going in the world and future work that will be done. The projects for the UK North are the Jack and Jill orphanage, A tour of Cultural workshops by Zambian Artistes, including singers, dancers, drummers and craft people. Also we are looking to help with a programme for nurses to work in our Hospitals to gain knowledge and information on a monthly basis. If you wish to be involved, help or just learn more on these projects please conatact Janette.Race for Life Many thanks to everyone who sponsored me to do "The Race for Life" with your help I raised £200!! Thank you
Africa As most of you know I was very lucky to be nominated to go to Zambia, Africa in June 2009. I had an amazing 10 days and learnt a lot. We visited an orphanage school in Choma, there are 120 pupils there with no family and everyday the teachers have to find them a home to sleep in. I am now a Member of an organisation called "My Home Town" who invited a number of Salsa Dancers from the UK. This organisation aims to address the high poverty levels affecting the living standards of the poeople of Choma. If you would like to find out more about the organisation visit www.myhometown.org.zm, or if you would like to know how you can help or even get the chance to visit Africa you can call me for more details.
